Our neighborhood is working to become resilient in a disaster by organizing and preparing early. Beaverton City police and other services are located in central Beaverton, not very close to us. Thus, we wish to focus on continuity of neighborhood efforts by:
  • using the Waterhouse Neighborhood Ready! booklet below to prepare
  • encouraging folks to take the City of Beaverton’s free Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) class
  • learning to use ham and FRS radios to communicate
  • and determining our resources and skills.
It is essential for life and property to take steps now! Once a disaster occurs, you can no longer prepare. There is the saying: “YOYO”, you’re on your own. So, we keep our community strong by connecting neighbors and by preparing for and being ready to respond to major storms, earthquakes, and other emergencies. And… we have fun doing so.

Waterhouse Neighborhood Ready! This is your guide.
It includes: Home Preparedness, Family Emergency Plan, Emergency Supply Kits, Preparedness Calendar, 9 Steps to Follow after a Disaster, Ways to Get Involved, and additional resources.
